Responsabilidades e atribuições
1. Occupational Health and Safety Management:
•Supervise the implementation of safety policies regarding the handling, storage, and transportation of batteries and chemical components.
•Ensure that employees are properly qualified, trained and equipped with the appropriate PPE for working in high-risk environments, such as installation projects, civil construction, battery installations and loading/unloading areas.
•Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify risks, particularly those related to the production and installation of solar batteries.
•Promote awareness campaigns on safety, preventing accidents and incidents.
2. Environmental Management and Sustainability:
•Ensure the company and its subcontracted companies/suppliers complies with environmental laws regarding battery, component and waste management/or disposal along projects execution
•Develop sustainable processes for material reuse and proper disposal.
•Implement and monitor processes to ensure that the equipment’s production and installation operations meet ISO 14001 standards and other environmental certifications.
•Coordinate actions to reduce gas emissions, pollution, and optimize the consumption of natural resources in the manufacturing and operational processes.
•Comply and ensure all subcontractors involved in the projects execution comply with all contractual obligations related to environmental issues
3. Risk Management and Legal Compliance:
•Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations specific to the battery, solar energy sector and installation projects.
•Manage and control the risks associated with handling hazardous materials, such as lithium and other elements found in solar batteries.
•Conduct internal and external audits to ensure EHS operations and procedures are properly followed.
•Stay up to date with local, national, and international regulatory changes related to the battery and solar energy sector.
4. Incident Investigation and Emergency Management:
•Coordinate investigations of workplace accidents and environmental incidents, focusing on determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
•Develop and review emergency response plans, specifically for fires, chemical leaks, or battery failures, ensuring all employees are trained for these situations.
•Ensure that accident and incident reporting processes are strictly followed and that records are maintained in compliance with legal requirements.
5. Training and Team Development:
•Coordinate ongoing training programs for staff and subcontractors, focusing on battery handling safety, environmental regulations, and best EHS practices.
•Ensure that all employees receive specific training on the hazards of solar batteries, including chemical safety and environmental emergencies.
•Promote a culture of occupational safety and health within the organization and subcontractors, ensuring all team members understand the importance of following EHS standards.
6. Reporting and Analysis:
•Prepare periodic reports on EHS performance indicators, analyzing the impact of safety and health actions on company operations.
•Present detailed analyses of accidents and incidents to senior management, suggesting continuous improvements.
•Monitor and report results from internal and external EHS audits, proposing corrective actions when necessary.
•Ensure the accomplishment of contractual milestones related to EHS, including the preparation, control, and validation of required documentation within agreed deadlines.
7. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
•Identify and implement continuous improvements in EHS policies, focusing on innovation in safety and sustainability practices.
•Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to enhance operations and processes, seeking safer and more environmentally friendly solutions.
Requisitos e qualificações
•Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, or related fields.
•Certification as an Occupational Safety Technician or specialization in EHS is a plus.
•Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in the battery, solar energy, or renewable energy industries.
•In-depth knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations, and occupational health, especially related to batteries and chemical components.
•Experience with environmental management systems (ISO 14001), occupational health and safety management (ISO 45001), and sustainability practices.
•Ability to conduct accident investigations, risk analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
•Advanced English and at least intermediate Spanish

Alocação full time em obra, durante fase de execução de projetos, e híbrido (2x escritório) nas demais ocasiões.
